Who's Behind the Art?

I'm retired and live in Manchester, NH with my husband, Ken and our Boston Terrier, Winifred.  Our home backs up to a Nature Conservancy with boundless opportunities to experience Nature.

Having no formal studio, I can be found at my favorite cafe with pens and paper.  I've been called a wandering artist.

Getting inspiration from the woods, opening my senses to whatever nature wants to reveal, is my true way to create.

My intention is to translate what I see or imagine onto a tangible format for others to experience and relate to.  We look for connections within ourselves and others.  If we can relate to Nature's words and environments, perhaps we can better relate to our own human experiences.  Often, we don't have or take the opportunity to experience Nature firsthand.  Through my art, I strive to bring the natural world into your space.

Trees and Mushrooms

Trees represent solidity-artfully grounded from years of hardship and glory.  Mushrooms are unreliable popping up where least expected in the most unusual forms. Fungi and trees have a symbiotic relationship exchanging energy and nutrients to sustain each other.

Why Pen and Ink?

Pen and ink give me the opportunity to leave indelible marks. It also gives the viewer a permanent visual piece of natural art to hang in their home.

I work in a black monochromatic pallete where no other colors will distract.  The subtleties of gray, light strokes and white space can be appreciated.  Graphite is also used for shading.  The use of bold lines, intricate marks and Asemic writing has led to my distinctive style.
